Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, Inc. has been helping provide employment and training for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment for 75 years.
Goodwill is often an employer of last resort for those without a job who want to work.
We work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals, private and governmental agencies to provide opportunities for people from high school to senior years.
Our service area covers 12 counties in Northern California and 3 counties in Nevada.
Our 15th community training center was opened on Norwood Avenue in September, 2007. Employees were recruited from the surrounding area and special attention was given to reaching out to nearby people with disabilities and groups serving them.
The number of people served has increased from 363 in 2001 to over an estimated 2,269 people in 2007.
Donation of used merchandise by local citizens enable this Goodwill to operate in a self-sufficient, financially responsible manner.
No other program or agency duplicates or focuses on our target population and operates solely on a donated goods funded model.
The need is great to help people become self-sufficient and employed in the private sector. Goodwill provides jobs, job training and job skills and development to people with barriers to employment.
