Administrative Assistant Program

The Administrative Assistant program includes instruction in typing, office equipment usage, document preparation, career planning skills and courses included in the Office Technology Program Level II. Graduates of this program will possess the skills to become employed as a computer operator, office technician, administrative assistant, or office assistant. Students learn via computer lab time accompanied by a self-paced online program and hands-on training. Students will earn an Administrative Assistant Certificate and Typing Certificate upon completion.

The course is designed to be completed in 12 weeks (240 hours). Individualized program plans can be tailored to meet the needs of each student. Students must attend 4 hours of class per day, Monday Through Friday. Class sessions are held from 8:00am-12:00pm, and 12:00pm-4:00pm. Students are welcome to stay longer if needed.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Office Technology Program Level I or a score of 75% or higher on the Level II placement exam.

Class enrollment is open to the public year-round and begins every Monday. Training participants may also be referred to this program by the California Department of Rehabilitation. Please call 916-395-9000 for more information.
